" Letters from ,"A Dying Friend."

I have been moved to share some very personal letters that were written to me by a very dear friend of mine when she was in the process of dying.I am posting them in the hopes that it may help someone else.I will post one a day until they have been posted in their entirity. This being #1

Dear Brenda,
I need to write, to try and relate what (or where,) I'm at tonight.
There is no way I could have gotten myself to Winterport on my own this afternoon. It was your presence that enabled me to go, and to hear the "Worrisome" news.
I'm at a loss for words when it comes to telling you the true depth of my love for you. May your spirit know; and, tell you , what I cannot.
We must focus on the positive of this situation. We must believe that this particular "cup" is half full, not half empty.
To have my family within reach is the greatest blessing I could hope for; and, you know who is my family.
We will take this one step at a time, without speculation or cumbersome fear that serves no purpose.
If you see me feeling sorry for myself, stop me however you can. Please!
It's so easy to do;(at least) for me.It's merely another negative, useless exercise.
Together, we will overcome this speed-bump. Right? Right!!!
I love you. I thank God that you are here with me. We'll "hang Tough" as they say.
Your sister,

Once again I am moved...moved to depth of my very soul by Jean's words. She sings my song and reaches me through the veils...

I know how much you loved her and always will My Sister...I know too how much courage this takes for you to share her intimacy with others...I am so proud of you and prouder still to be able to call you "MY SISTER." You are honor exemplified and one of the greatest teachers I've ever known.

Thank You for this sharing...
All My Love!

I've no doubt that Jean was a great teacher as she is still touching lives, no? :)

Thank you my sweet and wonderful friend. Courage?
More like hope.Hope that they will touch others as they have touched you, perhaps help others to deal as these could pertain to any kind of pain in life. It saddens me in a way as it seems like just yesterday when she left, but; happy that I had her in my life for a fleeting moment in time.
She was strong and poised, smart and funny, super intellectual, warm and giving. So much more really.I have not had a connection even remotely like it till I met you . Thank you for who you are.xxx

I remember back just several years ago when it was even hard for you to read one of them to me...and it happened because you had found one of them laying on your bedroom floor without any reason for it having been there...you felt you had been visited by Jean...so yes, it takes courage my love and as you say hope.

I thank you for your presence in my life which has always been constant and without judgement. That is priceless my Sister...just priceless!!!!
